Minnesota Vikings News Roundup

By the time we get to Friday, there is usually a fair amount of news coming out of Viking Land. We thus humbly offer our Minnesota Vikings News Roundup.

C.J. Ham, Week 6’s Unsung Hero, has been placed on the Covid-19 list. He was added on Thursday, so his availability for Sunday is definitely in doubt. Of course, the #1 priority is Ham’s health, so football shouldn’t be a main concern at this stage.

RG Ezra Cleveland is battling an ankle injury. If he can’t play Sunday, Brett Jones will likely be the starting RG. Otherwise, Irv Smith Jr., Hercules Mata’afa, Cameron Dantzler, and Garrett Bradbury were limited participants in practice. Ifeadi Odenigbo, who has a shoulder injury, was a full participant.

For the Cowboys, it’s looking like Ezekiel Elliott and Andy Dalton will be able to play. Mike Zimmer knows Dalton well from their time together in Cincinnati. Zim also knows Mike McCarthy well. It’ll be interesting to see if he can put together another tremendous game plan.

During his press conference, Andre Patterson emphasized that the defensive line is working with a lot of late-round players: “I asked them in the meeting, ‘OK, how many first-round picks are in this room? Raise your hand.’ And nobody raised their hand,” Patterson said. ” ‘How many second-round picks in this room?’ Nobody raised their hand. ‘How many third-round picks in this room?’ Nobody raised their hand. The bottom line is, ‘OK, it doesn’t matter what round you came in. What matters is what you do when you get here, and are you willing to pay the price every day to improve as a player?’ The Vikings need Patterson – the D-Line Whisperer – to keep getting the most of his guys. They did great against the Bears.

That’s all for the Minnesota Vikings News Roundup, folks. Hope everyone is having a great week. Skol.
